The parties remain distant on the industrial plan because, at the Sepac regional employment crisis table, Natuzzi confirmed the transfer of 15% of the activities currently carried out between Puglia and Basilicata to the group’s factories in Romania.
Regarding the redundancy fund, the parties will meet again, before the meeting already convened on June 11 by Minister Adolfo Urso at the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy. Meanwhile, for the experimental exodus plan, Natuzzi has made available 6 million euros, intended for a maximum indemnity of 50 thousand euros for employees who, on an exclusively voluntary basis, choose to join. Adhesions will be accompanied by an active labor policy measure already published by the Puglia Region and intended for interested workers, who will be able to access specific 400-hour training courses with an attendance allowance of 6 euros per hour. Furthermore, the possibility of absorbing Natuzzi workers into other companies in the upholstered furniture supply chain is being evaluated, and Arpal Puglia will activate a project dedicated to collecting voluntary applications from workers, while Sepac has already convened a further meeting for June 16 dedicated to the presentation of industrial and reindustrialization projects.

«The Natuzzi dispute is a complex, delicate matter, involving hundreds of workers and one of the historic brands of Apulian and national manufacturing – said the Councilor for Economic Development of the Puglia Region, Eugenio Di Sciascio -. Precisely for this reason, despite the current difficulties and the distances still present between the parties, we believe it is important to note some signs of openness that emerged from the table. The company’s willingness to convene RSU and RSA before June 11 represents a positive fact, because it restores centrality to the discussion and creates the conditions to try and build a shared solution for the management of the redundancy fund. Very delicate issues remain, starting with concerns related to the transfer of production activities abroad, regarding which the union has expressed clear and legitimate positions. The Puglia Region will continue to do its part fully, keeping dialogue open and working for employment protection, the safeguarding of the industrial presence, and the future of the upholstered furniture supply chain».
