Italian tennis takes the free-to-air TV stage. The Roland Garros semi-final between Matteo Arnaldi and Flavio Cobolli will be broadcast tomorrow, Friday, June 5, on Nove, Warner Bros Discovery’s free generalist channel, live from Paris at 7 PM, with pre-match coverage starting at 6:30 PM.

Warner Bros Discovery has therefore given its approval to transform an event born within the pay realm of Eurosport, HBO Max, and discovery+ into a broad, generalist television event.
The reason is simple: it had never happened that two Italians faced each other in a Grand Slam semi-final. Cobolli, 24 years old, number 10, arrives at the event after an almost flawless run, with just two sets lost. Arnaldi, 25 years old and number 104 in the ranking, is instead the surprise of the tournament: comebacks, fifth-set battles, victories against Griekspoor, Tsitsipas, Collignon, and Frances Tiafoe. For both, it will be their first Grand Slam semi-final.

The day will also have another free-to-air window: at 12 PM, the men’s doubles semi-final Bolelli-Vavassori against Granollers-Zeballos will be broadcast on SuperTennis TV (channel 64 of digital terrestrial television), as well as on Eurosport channels and WBD platforms, thanks to a partnership with FITP (the Italian tennis and padel federation led by Angelo Binaghi). «We are also pleased that the always constructive dialogue with FITP allows us to quickly forge a partnership thanks to which the men’s doubles semi-final with Bolelli-Vavassori will be broadcast free-to-air by Supertennis TV,» adds Araimo.
