This was reported by the Ukrainian state nuclear energy company Energoatom. Ukraine informed the International Atomic Energy Agency, which reported on X that Kyiv spoke of an attack that “caused significant damage to the plant’s fuel reception building – including the facade, windows and doors – and nearby buildings were also affected by the blast wave,” but “radiation levels at the plant remain within established limits.” According to Energoatom, around 02:10 Kyiv time, a Russian drone attacked the site of the centralized spent nuclear fuel storage facility, and as a result of the attack, the container reception building was partially destroyed. Energoatom clarified that no spent nuclear fuel was stored in the damaged building. The IAEA reports that its team will soon visit the site to inspect the damage. Director General Rafael Grossi states that the incident “is a source of deep concern as it occurred at a facility containing large quantities of nuclear material, stored just meters from the attacked building.” “Attacks on nuclear sites are completely unacceptable and in direct violation of the fundamental principles of nuclear safety, particularly the 7 indispensable pillars for nuclear safety during a military conflict,” Grossi said.

Pro-Ukrainian media: “Oil depot hit in Crimea”
