Design: Oice, 2025 turnover of associated companies at 4.6 billion (+6.1%)

During 2025, the turnover of engineering and architecture companies associated with Oice (a trade association affiliated with Confindustria) was 4.6 billion, with an increase of 6.1% over 2024, while for the current year a turnover of 4.7 billion is expected, with an increase of 1.6%. This is what is reported in the 42nd Oice/Cer Survey on the performance of engineering and architecture companies affiliated with the association.

In 2025, the number of employees in the companies was 37,459 (+7.9% over 2024) and in 2026 it will reach 39 thousand units (+4.1%). The share of companies intending to increase staff during the year decreases compared to last year (from 50% to 46.9%), a goal that continues to clash, however, with the difficulties encountered in recruiting new staff, reported by 72.2% of respondents, with a peak of about 76% for companies with fewer than 26 employees.

 25% of production comes from foreign markets, while the domestic market represents 75% of total production in 2025. The shares remain stable in the 2026 forecasts.

In the three-year period 2024-2026, the share of production connected to the Pnrr is growing, rising from 23.8% in 2024 to 25.0% in 2025, then falling to 17.5% in 2026. “This data,” it is emphasized, “unequivocally shows how activities related to the Pnrr are representing a significant portion of the activities of associated companies, partly offsetting the decline of building bonuses.”

With reference to macroeconomic risks, OICE companies confirm a low exposure to the consequences of the conflict in Ukraine, rising energy prices, and high inflation.
