Bankers, negotiations begin for the 518 euro increase

The negotiation for the renewal of the bankers’ contract has started at Abi.

The unions (Fabi, First, Fisac, Uilca and Unisin) have presented the union platform which was approved almost unanimously (99.8%) in the workers’ assemblies held in recent weeks. Strong also from this result, the unions presented their requests to the Abi Committee on union and labor affairs, led by Ilaria Maria Dalla Riva.

The extreme summary lies in the request for an increase of 518 euros for the average reference level which “is not a number chosen at the table – highlights the general secretary of Fabi, Lando Maria Sileoni -. If during the years of crisis the union built its requests, taking into account the economic situation of the sector, today we ask Abi for the same consistency. The wealth produced by the banks is above all the result of the daily work of the female and male workers. That is why the contract renewal must be consistent with the economic reality of the sector and with the results achieved.”

For the general secretary of Uilca, Fulvio Furlan, the request for an economic increase of 518 euros is “appropriate and sustainable. The renewal of a National Collective Contract is always an important moment, not only for the reference Category but for the entire world of work.
