Lately there has been much talk about his health – at the end of May there was the third scheduled visit in less than 13 months – a video reignites doubts about the actual conditions of United States President Donald Trump. ‘Commander-in-sleep’ and ‘sleepy Trump’ are the nicknames that are rampant on social media after a new video in which the American president appears to doze off in the Oval Office went viral. The tycoon is listening to a series of interventions on coal while sitting at his desk and in a couple of moments he seems to close his eyes, letting his head fall to one side. The episode is the latest in a series for the almost 80-year-old president and occurred just the day after a Marco Rubio hearing in Congress, during which the Secretary of State denied that Trump had ever fallen asleep during official events.

At the end of his last visit in late May, the president wrote on Truth Social: «I have just completed my semi-annual medical visit at the Walter Reed Military Medical Center. Everything turned out perfectly». However, questions about the tycoon’s health persist, while independent doctors have asked why Trump’s hands repeatedly show bruises, why his legs are swollen, and whether his occasional drowsiness is a symptom of a deeper physical and mental problem, deeming the White House’s explanations insufficient. When asked about the hematomas – often covered with makeup – the Republican stated that he takes large quantities of aspirin to “thin the blood” in an attempt to prevent clots, strokes, or heart attacks. His assistants explained that this causes bruising after handshakes.
