The preference for the mountains

The prohibitive temperatures with increasingly frequent heat waves push alpine destinations that record the most significant increases. Leading the growth is the Aosta Valley with a 47% increase in exchanges compared to summer 2025, followed by Trentino-Alto Adige (+40%), Lombardy (+27%) and Piedmont (+26%). Veneto is also increasing (+44%). In the region, alongside art cities, tourism related to the Dolomites also contributes to growth.

Among the mountain locations most requested by platform users are Bolzano, Pré-Saint-Didier and Ayas. According to HomeExchange, in the Aosta Valley some tourist locations at the foot of Mont Blanc and Monte Rosa record a number of exchanges higher than that of the regional capital. Good results also for Cuneo and Trento.
