The call center weighs more and more
The old phone beats email and social media: 68.2% of the scams indicated by the research came from a fake call center. Following are fake emails, used in 24.9% of cases, door-to-door in 12.9%, messaging apps in 9.5%, and social networks in 6%.
The comparison with the previous survey by the same company shows how much the weight of phone calls has grown: in 2023 the fake call center appeared in 53% of cases and fake emails accounted for more than a third of cases.
