The first edition of Santa Margherita Talks – Summer Edition has concluded with great success. Dialogues on culture, finance, and current affairs, the series of meetings promoted by Sole 24 Ore in collaboration with the Municipality of Santa Margherita Ligure, Team for Santa, and the Hotel Group of Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino, with the patronage of the Liguria Region.

“The event on September 4 dedicated to contemporary art – comments the Mayor of Santa Margherita Ligure Gugliemo Caversazio – closed a path of three appointments with which, moving from themes of meditation to those of geopolitics, we restored Piazza Caprera to its vocation as a space for meeting, socializing, and debate; and we did it in the best way, with the direction of an institution like Il Sole 24 Ore. It is a path we wish to continue with the aim of accrediting Santa Margherita as a central location in the Italian cultural debate: an ambitious but realistic goal.” From June to September, Piazza Caprera indeed transformed into an open space for discussion and deepening, welcoming citizens, tourists, and enthusiasts around some of the most relevant contemporary themes. The series confirmed the value of public dialogue as a tool for knowledge, offering opportunities for reflection capable of combining authoritative content, accessibility, and participation.
The path opened on June 20 with the meeting “Living Summer between Well-being, Breath, and Awareness,” featuring the naturalist biologist Daniel Lumera, in dialogue with Radio 24 health expert host Nicoletta Carbone, in a conversation dedicated to mental well-being, awareness, and practices to improve quality of life, between neuroscience, meditation, and breathing techniques.

The second appointment, on July 25, delved into the major changes in the international scenario through a discussion on geopolitics and the future of Western democracies. The protagonist of the evening was the well-known international politics scholar Vittorio Emanuele Parsi, author of the book Against the Empires. The Future of Our Democracies in the New World Order, interviewed by the Deputy Director of Sole 24 Ore Daniele Bellasio.
Closing the series, on September 4, was the meeting “Building the Gaze: Contemporary Art, Public Space, and New Generations,” which brought together Ambra Castagnetti, Sarah Cosulich, Emilio Gola, and Claudia Mainardi, moderated by journalist Adelaide Marchesoni, for a reflection on the role of contemporary art as a tool for interpreting the present and a factor of cultural and social participation.
