According to Nepalese media, of the ten climbers engaged in climbing Broad Peak, an eight-thousander which is the 12th highest mountain in the world, two have died and eight are missing. The two confirmed victims have not been identified. The expedition included, besides Purja and five Sherpas, an American, a Chinese, an Omani, and a Pakistani.
The Islamabad army is participating in the search with two helicopters, but weather conditions are complicating rescue operations.
