Kiev strikes Russian refinery
This morning meanwhile a Ukrainian drone attack hit an oil refinery and a Wildberries logistics center – “the Russian Amazon” – in Bashkiria, west of the Urals. Ukrinform reports, citing news from the Astra Telegram channel, that the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat oil refinery caught fire following the attack. It is one of the largest oil and petrochemical complexes in Russia.
In 2024, the plant processed about 7.2 million tons of oil, equal to about 2.7% of the total oil refining volume in Russia.
