The plant is another step in the expansion path that Clivet is leading within Mbt Climate, the European division and house of brands of Midea building technologies (Midea Group) which first led to the creation of the Innovation Centre in Padua, an international reference point for research and development in the HVAC market, the English acronym for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, inaugurated last summer, and now the new Feltre plant, which represents its industrial development in support of ambitious European goals on carbon neutrality and sustainability. “In terms of production capacity, the new plant at full capacity will be able to produce 8,800 units per year, doubling the current capacity for the specific lines,” Bellò continues. “The strong push for Clivet products in the tertiary sector and the development of new markets on the horizon will see 70% of its production destined for foreign markets, particularly towards Central-Northern Europe, where the demand for heat pumps for decarbonization in the tertiary sector is continuously growing.” Among other things, the plant is equipped with the most advanced high energy efficiency and low environmental impact technologies: on the roof of the building there is a photovoltaic system with 1,008 panels for a total power of 805 KWp, which covers 67% of consumption, with an estimated self-consumption of 87%, thus also providing energy to the grid.

“The start-up of the new plant is the result of intense design, implementation, and industrial organization work,” emphasizes Marco Bertazzo, plant manager of Clivet. “We developed the lines applying lean manufacturing principles, aiming to create more efficient flows, eliminate waste, and focus on activities that generate value for the customer. We also designed the lines to integrate robots and collaborative robots, autonomous guided vehicles in a collaborative automation perspective. We also decided to invest in skills and human capital: we want to attract and train professionals capable of accompanying the technological evolution of the sector and offer new opportunities to young people in the area.” For the building, Clivet requested the Leed Silver certification, leadership in energy and environmental design.
