Bad weather, Siena Palio postponed to tomorrow

Due to adverse weather conditions, the Palio di Siena, dedicated to the Assumption of Mary, scheduled for this evening at 7 PM, has been postponed to tomorrow, Monday, August 17. The official announcement came with the display of the green flag at the triforas of the Palazzo Pubblico in Piazza del Campo. A downpour around 2 PM, lasting about half an hour, made the tuff track impassable for the horse race of the ten Contrade. This is the second postponement due to rain of the Palio in this 2026. The race on July 2, after heavy rains the previous night, was postponed to July 3.
